Ethelyn Murphy

Ethelyn Murphy, age 90 of Hamilton, OH passed away at Tri County Extended Care Center on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Ethelyn was born in Connersville, Indiana on February 9, 1927 to William Edward Stoops and Norma Grace (Myer) Stoops. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School, and of the Nursing School at Mercy Hospital. Ethelyn was a Registered Nurse at Fort Hamilton Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1988. On July 19, 1951 in Middletown, OH, she married James Thomas Murphy, and he preceded her in death in 2016.

Ethelyn is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Jarvis and Ellen Wilson; three grandchildren, Brian (Krissy) McWhorter, Ben Wilson, and Deanna Anderson; 8 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Haley, Owen, Allyson, Olivia, Scarlett, Bonnie, and Gage. Ethelyn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one sister, Sandra Sue Sizemore.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 12Noon. Burial will follow at Village Creek Cemetery in Connersville, Indiana.
