Eugene Anderson

Eugene Anderson, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at University Hospital on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 9:10 PM. He was born in Gumfork, Tennessee on January 1, 1932 the son of Alvin Anderson and Stella (Maxey) Bray. Eugene was a member of the Ohio Laborers Union Local #534 and The Rock Pentecostal Church. He was married to Velma Wilson in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and she preceded him in death in 2010.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda (Larry) Roe of Winfield, Tennessee, Linda King of Dayton, Ohio and Imogene Anderson of Roseberg, Oregon; two sons, Donnie King of Dayton, Ohio and Rick (Jackie) Anderson on Yreka, California; two brothers, Paul W. (Stella) Anderson of West Harrison, Indiana, and Robert Chitwood of Winfield, Tennessee; two sisters, Helen Allen of Winfield, Tennessee and Doris Wilson of Mooresville, Indiana; five stepchildren, Rick, Pat, Freddie, Calvin, and Brenda; fifteen grandchildren including two special grandsons, Dustin Roe and Christian Anderson; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Christine Flick and Belle Vowell, both of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velma Wilson; his former spouse, Joyce Wilson Anderson; four sons, William, James, Leroy, and Billy; a grandson, Canyon Anderson; two brothers, Homer Anderson and Marshall Chitwood; two sisters, Franes Newport and Shirley Pergram.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Fred Marshall and Pastor Johnny Breedlove officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
