Eugene J. Brinkman, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 4:49PM. He was born in Hamilton on September 15, 1926 to LeRoy and Estella (Grewe) Brinkman. Eugene was a United States Army Veteran and Bronze Star Recipient, serving from 1944-1946. Eugene was the owner of Freight Carrier Corporation until his retirement. He was also a member and a long time usher of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. On June 21, 1947 in Hamilton, he married Betty Ruth (Davis) Brinkman, and she preceded him in death in 2011.
He is survived by his six children, Stephen (Kathie) Brinkman, Kathy (Randy) Horne, Mary Grace Brinkman, John (Connie) Brinkman, Maureen Taylor, Joseph Brinkman; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother Maurice Brinkman; two sisters Carolyn Bigham and Gloria Becker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Gregory Brinkman, Francis Brinkman, Kenneth Brinkman, Dorothy Voegele, Mary Lou Riccardi.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Ave, on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11AM with Father James Wedig celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 10AM-11AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Queen of Peace School Tuition Fund.
