Eugene P. Mcfarland

Eugene P. McFarland, age 78 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:11PM. Eugenewas born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 25, 1938 to Eugene W. McFarland and Mary (Hynes) McFarland. He was a graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. Eugene served his country proudly in the United States Naval Reserves, from 1956-1964. Eugene was a past commander of the AMVETS Post 1983; longtime member of the Monkeys Mutual Aid Society; a member of the Eagles #407; a long time member of the Moose Lodge #36; and a member of the American Legion Post #138. He was a pipefitter for Fernald, until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and being around his family. On March 4, 1957, he married Nancy (Lyons) McFarland at St. Joseph Church.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy McFarland; his children, Patrick (Carmen) McFarland, Gary (Vicky) McFarland, Mark (Michele) McFarland, Sheila (Ray) Sharp; his son in law, Michael Klumb; his grandchildren, Steven, Ryan, Josh, Wesley, Jimmy, Cole, Taylor, Courtney, Heather, and Krista; four great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Jane Moreland, Mary Johnson, and Brian McFarland; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gail Klumb; and a great granddaughter, Abigail Sharp.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com
