Eva W. Arvin

Eva W. Arvin, age 96 of Hamilton (Hanover Twp), passed away at Bradford Placeon Wednesday, August 19, 2015.She was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on January 27, 1919 to Harrison and Emily (Melton) Wooton, the eldest of 11 children. She graduated from Witherspoon High School at Buckhorn, Kentucky. Eva was employed at Mercy Hospital Hamilton and Fairfield for over 20 years. Eva also worked at Dow Chemical during WWII. She was a member of Westwood Presbyterian Church for ten years. Eva was a active member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening and cooking for family and friends. She loved to travel especially with the O-Tucks.

She is survived by her children James K. (Barbara Ann) Hoskins, Roy G. (Debbie) Hoskins, Earl "Joe" Hoskins, Ann (Bobby) Shepherd, Barbara (Roland) Deaton and Vivian "Pet" Worthington; grandchildren Bobby Wade, Barbie, Angie, Jeff, Roy Patrick, Leslie, Tracey, Bill, Kelley and Kathryn; 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sisters Nola Sowder and Shirley McLauglin and brother Earl Wooton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Millard Arvin, father of her children Kenneth Hoskins, brothers Sterle, Bruce, James, Joe and sisters Odra, Ella and Esther.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11 AM with Rev. Norman Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Westwood Presbyterian Church, Bradford Place and Queen City Hospice.
