Evelyn L. Agee

Evelyn L. Agee, age 90 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 7:40 AM. She was born in Rock Hold, Kentucky on June 6, 1920 the daughter of Luther and Myrtle (Sams) Wright. On May 22, 1942 in Newport, Kentucky she married Jesse Agee, and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was employed at Mostow Company, Estate Stove Company, Whirlpool, International Paper, and retired from Sybron in 1982. Evelyn was a member of the Order of Easter Star Washington Chapter #195 for 48 years, Amateur Radio (K8CHQ) with her husband (W8COU), and Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making afghans for family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Thomas (Linda) Agee of Hamilton; two daughters, Julia (Roger) Ballerino of Hamilton and Ruth (Kenneth) Lind of Maineville; two sisters, Gladys Newport of Alabama and Lola Smith of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ed Agee; a daughter, Elizabeth VonStein; and two brothers, Kenneth and Junior Wright.

Funeral service will be held at the Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church, 1321 Pater Avenue, on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Willard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
