Evelyn Embry, age 78, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, April 8, 2011. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on March 15, 1933 the daughter of Theo and Eva (Hibbard) Griffin. A homemaker she enjoyed quilting. Evelyn was a member of the original Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church. On September 23, 1954 in Clay County, Kentucky she married Donald Embry.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Embry; a daughter, Vuanitta Embry; two sons, Manuel Embry and Douglas Embry; a granddaughter, Lauren Embry; a great-grandaughter, Lydia Embry; and a sister, Helen (Bill) Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
