Evelyn M. Hounshell Simms

Evelyn M. Hounshell Simms, age 97 of Oxford, stepped forward to eternal life at The Knolls of Oxford on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Montogomery County, near Germantown, Ohio on July 28, 1917 to James and Mary Miltenberger.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Truster; grandchildren, Phillip Truster, with whom she made her home, Jeffrey Hounshell, Tony Hounshell, Cathy Hollins, and Jill Reid; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Hounshell. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville Hounshell and Leslie Simms; a son, Robert Hounshell; grandchildren, Lori Hounshell, and Douglas Truster; a brother, Horatial Miltenberger; 5 sisters, Clara Githens, Myrtle Fields, Esther Fall, Pearl Bishop, and Helen Null; and her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Germantown Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund for the awning for the Memory Garden at The Knolls of Oxford.
