Evelyn A. West

Evelyn A. West, age 93 of Hamilton passed away at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 3:33 AM. She was born in Richmond, Kentucky on September 17, 1918 the daughter of Louis and Rene (Shear) Rhodus. Evelyn was a member of Hamilton West Baptist Church. In 1962 in Hamilton, she married Ernest West, and he preceded her in death in 1977.

She is survived by a son, Gary Smith of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Cherie Smith of Hamilton; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James D. Smith and Thomas J. Smith; a brother, Cecil Rhodus and a great-grandson, Michael Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Williams of Hamilton West Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
