Fern B. Clark

Fern B. Clark, age 72 of Hamilton, went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 8:37 PM. She was born in Norton, Virginia on December 19, 1935 the daughter of Tate and Lola (Barnett) Sturgill. Fern was co-owner and operator of Old Mill Donut Shop in Millville with her husband Harold for 16 years retiring in 1993 and they also owned and operated a International House of Pancakes in Sunrise, Florida from 1972-1978. She was a member of the Hamilton Church of God. Ferns greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She really enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing and doing crafts. On November 15, 1952 in Cumberland, Kentucky she married Harold Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Clark; two daughters, Diane Neborak and Marcie (Daryl) Childs, all of Hamilton; one brother, Charles (Doris) Sturgill of Norton, Virginia; three grandchildren, Amanda Childs, Johnathan Neborak, and Lindsey Childs; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Childs, Austin Craft and Mya Childs; two nieces, Connie (Donald) Culbertson and Brenda (Gary) Bolling, both of Norton, Virginia; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tate Sturgill and Lola Parris; and son-in-law, John Neborak.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Alan Weaver of Hamilton Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Paula Weisenberger and her staff, Dr. William Krall, and Hospice of Hamilton for all their care and support.
