Flora Ann Williams

May 17, 1934 — September 5, 2024

Beloved Flora ‘Ann’ Williams, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Hamilton, Ohio passed peacefully into heaven on September 5, 2024, at the age of 90. It seems appropriate that she left this earth at 5:17 p.m., the month and day of her birth.

Ann was born on May 17, 1934, in Danville, KY to Everett and Edna Stephens. After graduating from Parksville High School (Boyle County), Ann attended Georgetown College for two years and then married her true love, Robert E. Williams (Bob), on August 11, 1956. They lived in Lexington, KY until Bob graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1959 and then moved to Hamilton, OH.

Ann devoted her life to her family, to prayer, and sharing her deep faith in Christ. Ann was an amazing wife and mother, a steadfast intercessor, and supported many Christian organizations. She served six years in a nursing home ministry, loving and praying for the elderly. She was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church and Home Word Mission. She leaves a legacy of faith and love for generations to come.

She enjoyed the simple things…flowers (especially roses), long car rides, homemaking, gardening, and going out to lunch or to a park. She was beautiful, inside and out, and dearly loved by her family, friends, and many in the community who knew her. Ann was known for a warm, caring heart and exhibiting a loving kindness that will always be remembered and deeply missed. She was the best of the best, always thinking of others above herself.

After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, Ann supported the family by working part-time at Sears in Hamilton, Montgomery Ward in Sharonville, and later full-time for Directel at the Blue Ash and Fairfield locations for ten years. Before starting a family, Ann worked at a bank and then for a department store in Lexington, KY for a summer after having her first child. The department store management took notice of Ann’s great customer service and keen eye for style. They offered her the opportunity to become a Store Buyer and send her to New York. Ann turned them down stating that she would need to be at home. Family was the priority.

Ann leaves three children, Lisa Tilney (Tim), Kathryn Kirkpatrick (Dave), and Stephen Williams; six grandchildren, Heather Lewallen (Mike), Lauren Uriarte (Anthony), Kate Tilney, Taylor Williams, Koryn Billingsley (Storm), and Mitchell Williams; fourteen great-grandchildren (Mia, Zayn, Auri, Mackenzie, Oliver, Katelyn, Jack, Sam, Charlie, Eden, Peter, Jona, Olivia, and one on the way); one brother, Clay Stephens; sister-in-law, Pam Williams; a niece, Sandy Price, four nephews (David Cassady, Buddy Williams, Chris Cassady, Ken Williams), and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; her sister, Frances Cassady; brother-in-law, Billy Williams; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Williams.

The family extends their appreciation to the caring nurses, aides, and kitchen staff at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, OH.

Visitation is Thursday, September 12 at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH from 5 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a celebration service from 6:30 to 7 p.m.  Burial will be at the Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, KY.
