Florence P. Rich

Florence P. Rich, age 96 of Hamilton passed away at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 12:08 PM. She was born in Cincinnati on March 30, 1914 the daughter of Ernest and Ida (Turner) Carson. Florence was a member of Stahlheber Baptist Church and a former member and Sunday School teacher at First Southern Baptist Church of Camden. On November 2, 1935 in Newport, Kentucky she married William R. Rich, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Florence was an avid homemaker and bowler who enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by four children, Betty (Jim) Campbell of Hamilton, Jean (Richard) Catron of West Chester, Robert (Virginia) Rich Sr. of Somerville;, and Bonnie Cosby of Middletown; a brother, Donald (Jane) Carson of Montgomery; 14 grandchildren, Lisa Ivers, Scott Wyckoff, Teresa Kolb, Rob Rich Jr., Steve Catron, Rick Catron, Mark Browning, Marilyn Dickerson, Ronnie Browning, Mandy Rich-Turvene, Matthew Rich, Lynn Rich, Nancy Rich, and Donna Bryant; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William E. Rich; two brothers, Walter and Richard Carson; three sisters, Mary Bryan, Mildred Grassman, and Helen Anderson; a grandson, William J. Rich; and a great-grandson, Raymond C. Rich.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon with Pastor Harold Thompson of Stahlheber Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Somerville Cemetery.
