Florence E. "Penny" Smith

Florence E. "Penny" Smith, age 73 of Hamilton passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. She was born in Livingston County, Michigan on December 12, 1933 the daughter of Harold T. and Vertia Mae (Casto) Molson. Florence retired from Continental Can Company as a quality control inspector. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middletown. Florence loved to camp, and enjoyed her cats Cinders and Baby.

She is survived by five children, Gary (Joyce) Smith of Milford, Robert (Geanene) Smith of Hamilton, Connie (Eddie) Smallwood of Trenton, Carl Smith, and Johnna Lyttle, both of Hamilton; eleven grandchildren, Shannon Michael Smith, Heidi Megan Smith, Robert John Smith II, Jeffery Owen Harrison II, Brian Christopher Smallwood, Joseph "Joey" Edward Smallwood, Amy Marie Blizzard, Amanda Marie Brown, Ryan Dakota Smith, Blazedon Smith,and Steven Tyler Cozad; five great-grandchildren, Kelsey Marie Blizzard, Devin Aiden Cozad, Khalil Michael Cozad, Kobe Tyler Cozad, and Ian Smith; a brother, Charles (Violet) Molson of Michigan; and dear friends Wilma and Gary Lewis and Brittany. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Molson; a sister, Margaret Rogers; and a grandson, John Paul Smith.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to the ASPCA. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Richard Bucher and his staff, and the nurses and respiratory service at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
