Frank B. "Boxhead" Barnes, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00AM. He was born in Clay County, KY on December 15, 1922 to William and Sara (Root) Barnes. Frank was employed at Fisher Body for 32 ½ years, retiring on June 1, 1980. His favorite thing to do was take long walks and drinking many cups of coffee. On March 4, 1950 in Tazewell, TN he married Sylvia Pitman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sylvia Barnes; one son, Ralph (Mary) Barnes; two grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Stacy and Tammy (James) Clarkston; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Jessica, and Rebecca; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one child, Frank Barnes Jr.; three brothers, James, John, and Charles.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 1PM with Pastor John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home.
