Franklin J. "Frankie" Cox,

Franklin J. "Frankie" Cox, age 88 of Fairfield passed away at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on December 12, 1922 the son of Caswell Tipton and Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" (Huston) Cox. Frankie was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945 and was employed as a supervisor in the finishing department of Beckett Paper for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Hamilton Christian Center. Frankie was a devoted family man. Frankie was a very skilled mechanic whose hobby was riding his bicycle. On September 22, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana he married Dorothy Browning, and she preceded him in death in 2003.

He is survived by a sister, Freeda (Foley) Parker of Dayton; a brother, Roscoe Cox of Hamilton; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and caregiver, Ella Mae (Carl) Miller of Millville; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, (his twin) Willie Cox and Charlie Cox; and three sisters, Dorothy Wyatt, Myrtle Delph, and Mae Gill.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Bobby Mills of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Hawthorn Glen and Hospice of Cincinnati.
