Franklin D. "Frank" Gross, age 83 of College Corner, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Frank was born in Irvine, Kentucky on January 1, 1934 to Clarence and Ruth (Samples) Gross. He proudly served in the US Army as a Chef, where he learned his love for cooking and decided to open Bruno’s Pizza in 1963 where "the coffee call" all started. Coffee call was a time for him to let his humor shine, there was always a joke told, some new, and some over and over again. His joys in life were his lovely Janice, work, garden, and pride in his yard. Frank loved his grandchildren and enjoyed being their biggest fan, whether it’s a sporting event, or sitting on the front porch drinking lemonade and giving advice on life. He was close with his two sons, Roger and Frankie, who both valued his friendship and wisdom.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jan Gross, his two sons, Roger (Julie) Perry and Frankie Gross; his grandchildren, Aryn (Brooks) May, Jordan (David) Molina, Cody Gross, Courtney Gross, and Christopher Gross, two great grandchildren, Lincoln May and Evalyn Molina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and five sisters.
