Fred Mitchell

Fred J. Mitchell, age 74 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Fred was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 12, 1944 to Fred John Mitchell and Mary T. (Westrick) Mitchell. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1964-1968 and stationed on the USS Ticonderoga (Aircraft Carrier). On June 5, 1965 in San Francisco, CA, he married Judith G. Johnson. Fred was a long time butcher and partner for Norman’s IGA in Millville, OH, and later for Meijer stores. He was an avid gardener, dog lover and sports fan.

Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith; her children, John B. Mitchell, Marc Norman Mitchell and Jennifer Michelle (Thomas) Kramer; Archie and Lola; one brother, Thomas (Cyndi)Mitchell; brother and sister in laws, John (Carol) Johnson and Glenna Huffman; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and his father and mother in law, Norman (Virginia) Johnson.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 12:00. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
