Frieda Joyce Woodward

Frieda Joyce Woodward, age 84 of Petersburg, Kentucky passed away in her sleep peacefully on Saturday, April 7 2018 after a ten plus year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Bybee, Kentucky on February 8, 1934 the daughter of George and Lougenella (Jones) Stone. On July 25, 1959 in Hamilton she married Billie Joe Woodward and he preceded her in death in 2013. Frieda touched the lives of many people throughout her life with love and her kind heart and she continued to do so even though Alzheimer’s took away her ability to speak.

Frieda is survived by three children, Linda (James) Wheeler, Brenda Cheryl Woodward, and Gary Shawn (Paula) Woodward; one brother, Danny Stone; fourteen grandchildren, Krista Marie (Jeremy) Joseph, Alex Gage Woodward, Sean Ryan Woodward, Michael Anthony Lopez, Nina Marie Lopez, Sara Michielson, Amy Gabbard, Jamie Gabbard, Willie Gabbard, Aillsa (Michael) Boykin, David Stanifer, Tamera Williams, Athena Maly, and Jason Evans; numerous great grandchildren; and three sons-in-law, Steve Sullivan, James Wheeler, and Larry Gabbard; and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Connie Sullivan, David Stanifer, and Donna Gabbard; and four siblings, Christine Crowe, Clyde Stone, James Stone, and WJ Stone.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. A private entombment will be held at the convenience of the family. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com
