Gary R. Franz

Gary R. Franz, age 75 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. Gary was born in Ashland, Kentucky on January 7, 1948 to Charles Franz and Vivian (Howe) Franz. He was the first in his family to attend college and he went on to graduate from Marshall University. Gary had also earned an MBA from Xavier University and MEd from Antioch University. He worked for ARMCO for nearly 30 years. Gary was an accomplished swimmer and triathlete who loved the outdoors and animals.

Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose Franz; two children, Cybil Lachenman and Jonathan Franz (Elizabeth Odum); grandchildren, Gary (Anna), Emma, Jessica, and Jamie; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Chaplain Thomas Meyer officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 28 in West Virginia.
