Gary Gordon Lewis, age 78 of Trenton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Gary was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on May 15, 1947 to Brownlow and Sadie (nee Gordon) Lewis. He served in the United States Army. He was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War and retired as CWO4. Gary worked at Carter Co., TN Sheriff’s Department, Milligan College and for the IBEW. He loved hunting, cook, smoking meats, the rodeo and his pets.
Gary is survived by his wife, Faye Lewis; his children, Laura Lewis, Lesley McBride, Robert Lewis; his step children, Ken (Belinda) Hacker, Susan (Scott) Livelsburger, Debbie (Bob) Baldwin, Tim (Angela) Hacker and Mary (Tony) Nelson; his two granddaughters, McKenzie (Jared) Moritz and McKayla McBride; his grandchildren, Raven, Kori, Scyler, Chelsea, Kayla, Quentin, Robbie, Jonathan, Brandon, Matthew and Shelby; his 6 great-grandchildren; his sister, Linda (Bob) Livingston; his special friends, Larry Dale Norris, Richard Ecke, R.L. McKinney and Bud Akers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013. Visitation will be held at Dowell and Martin Funeral Home, 365 W. Main Street, Mt. Vernon, KY, 40456 on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a funeral service to start at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Singleton-Thomas Cemetery in Orlando, KY.
