Gary L. Pendergrass

Gary L. Pendergrass, age 67 of Fairfield, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 12:40AM. He was born in Hamilton on January 29, 1947 to Clayton and Thelma (Bishop) Pendergrass. Gary was employed at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Hamilton, OH, retiring in 2009. He attended Fairfield West Baptist Church, loved watching NASCAR, football, and baseball. On June 11, 1966 in Hamilton he married Janet Lang.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet Pendergrass; two children Jeffrey (Terry) Pendergrass, and Michele (John) Murphy; three grandchildren, Amanda Pendergrass, Gabby Murphy, and Garrett Murphy; two sisters, Brenda Williams and Candy (Richard) Knepfle; brother in law Greg (Debra) Lang; one special niece Julie Hampton; and one special great niece, Jessica Hampton; numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Clayton Pendergrass Jr.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10AM with Pastor Rob Rosenbalm officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the nurses and PCA’s on 5 Tower Mercy Hospital, and the staff at OHC. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
