Gary R. Allen Sr.

Gary R. Allen Sr., age 73 of Hamilton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Gary was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 21, 1949 to Wade Allen and Martha (McFarland) Allen. Gary was a member of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He was a certified welder for 35 years, retiring from Champion Paper Company and then going on to start his own welding business. Gary was a member of the Allison Avenue Baptist Church, where he leaves behind many brothers and sisters in Christ. He was a hot rod and classic car enthusiast who enjoyed going to car shows winning many awards. Gary loved golfing, especially with his brothers and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol J. Allen; son, Gary R. Allen Jr; grandsons, Christopher M. and Joel A. Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel Andrew and Margie Cottingim; and brothers, Frank and Jerry Allen.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Andrew Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
