Geneva Hignite

Geneva Hignite, age 91 of Hamilton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11:15 AM. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on May 3, 1919 the daughter of Arch B. and Callie (Holcomb) Seale. Geneva was employed in the plating department at Krauth and Benninghofen for 29 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Eastern Star #568 and Stahlheber Baptist Church. On December 2, 1939 in Hamilton she married Karl Hignite, and he preceded her in death in 2000. After her retirement, Geneva and Karl moved to their retirement home in Pineland, Texas, and enjoyed 16 years there before moving back to Hamilton to be close to family.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Edward (Donna) Hignite of Hamilton and Carl Dennis (Sue) Hignite of Fairfield; a sister, Emma (Johnny) Hignite of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren, Pamela (Jeff) Deaton, Michael S. Hignite, Jennifer (Roy) Smith, Shannon Hignite, and Tracy (Bryan) Money; 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, her twin Gentry C. Seale and Carl Seale; and three sisters, Margaret Dix, Bethel Benton, and Edna Bolick.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Harold Thompson of Stahlheber Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stahlheber Baptist Church, 1800 Stahlheber Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. The family extends a special thank you to the staffs of Berkeley Square and Ft. Hamilton Hospital for all their care and support.
