Geneva Rison

Geneva Rison, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 7:13 AM. She was born in Hamilton on April 13, 1923 the daughter of Sim and Rosa (Chandler) Dezarn. Geneva was employed as an LPN at Powell’s, retiring in 1972 and was a member of New Miami Church of God. On August 18, 1969 in Hamilton she was married to William Rison and he preceded her in death in 2001.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy Woolum of Oxford, Beckie (Steve) Chase of Hamilton, Lisa (Steve) Meyers of Hamilton and Jessika (Jason) Sturgill of Seven Mile; three sons, Rob (Pam) Gordon of Hamilton, Danny Gordon Cayse of Taiwan, and Tony (Kim) Rison of Hamilton; twenty-two grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and a son, Mike Gordon.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Wilma Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Geneva’s granddaughter Amy Dawn for all her loving care and support she showed her grandmother.
