Genevieve (Mcguire) Helton

Genevieve (McGuire) Helton, age 74 of Hamilton passed away in Ft. Hamilton Hospital Hospice Unit on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 6:47 AM. She was born in Hamilton on January 13, 1933 the daughter of Jesse and Mary (Skinner) McGuire. On September 25, 1948 in Paint Lick, Kentucky she was married to Hubert Helton, and he preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Wendell) Gibson of Hamilton; two granddaughters, Sherry (Jim) Hocking and Kristina Stivers; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Perkinson, Brett "BJ" Perkinson, Joshua Christopher Stivers, and Sydney Bryce Stivers; seven nieces, Judy, Mary Ruth, Maisie, Freddie Lou, Kathy, Jenny Mae, and Carolyn Ann; also five nephews, Pete, Garnett, Bo, Terry, and Jerry; and many other relatives and friends. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Tenalee (Bill) Causey of Paint Lick, Kentucky and Irene McGuire of Hamilton, whose relationship has lasted over seventy years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marian Anna and Sherry Sue Helton; three brothers, Garnett, who was killed in World War II with the United States Army in Germany in 1944, James, and Marion McGuire; two sisters, Virgie Plummer and Nora Saylor.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Donald Pierce, Rev. Willard Baker, and Chaplain Dennis Best officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
