George B. Bannon

George B. Bannon, age 85 of Hamilton passed away in Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 6:55 AM. He was born in Hamilton on September 10, 1921 the son of James and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Bannon. George was employed as a laborer for Local #534 for twenty years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed farming and gardening. On August 19, 1948 in Covington, Kentucky he was married to Maxine Revelee, and she preceded him in death in 2005.

He is survived by one son, Ed "Buck" Bannon of Hamilton; two daughters, Carol (Bill) Burns of Hamilton and Betty Vaughn of Hazard, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Uhl of Sevenmile, Irene Foley of Fairfield, and Margie Conrad of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Ed Jr., Ryan, Kashawna, Susie, and Ralph; thirteen great-grandchildren; a special niece, Sharon Smith of Hamilton; two close friends, Louis Priesmeier and Claude Goins; and his faithful dog, "Bubba." He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James Jr., Robert, Raymond, and Dale Bannon; and a granddaughter, Alicia.

Cremation will be held. Interment of cremains will be held in St. Stephen’s Cemetery on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM.
