George Kay Kasnic, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 12:55PM. He was born in Wheeling on November 22, 1929 to George and Virginia (McCann) Kasnic. George was a member of the Army Signal Corps, he served in the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955 as Corporal. He attended Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and West Liberty State College in West Liberty, West Virginia and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was employed by Wheeling Tile Company as a Ceramic Engineer; he was also employed at Hazel Atlas Glass Company as a quality control manager. Later he moved to Ohio, and was employed by Continental Can Company in Sharonville, as a manager of distribution services in which he retired after 35 years. He played football in college and in the Army. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Oxford Country Club. George enjoyed following many sporting events with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Clementine, his son Eric, and brother Phillip. He is survived by his children, David, of Hamilton, Chris (Billy), of Fairfield, Keith (Susan), of Loganville, Georgia, Linda (Jerry) Rush, of Germantown, Carol Mull, of Oxford, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Ave, on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11AM with Fr. James Wedig officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 10-10:45AM at the church. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com.
