George "Craig" Newton

George "Craig" Newton, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away at Tri-County Extended Care on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 4:44 AM. He was born in Hamilton on October 27, 1926 the son of Earl and Thelma (Craig) Newton. Craig was employed as a postal clerk for 31 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II with the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. On April 4, 1947 he married Lena "Louise" Smith. Louise preceded him in death on February 5, 2013.

He is survived by five children; Mark (Renee) Newton, of Cincinnati, Rick Newton of Hamilton, Darryl (Vicky) Newton of Hamilton, Randy (Pam) Newton of Hamilton, Terry (Shirley) Newton of Hamilton; his brother, Dr. Charles (JoAnn) Newton; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at the Butler County Memorial Park Chapel on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 1:00 PM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
