Gerald Edward "Jerry" Flick

Gerald Edward "Jerry" Flick, age 71 of Fairfield passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 8:13 AM. He was born in Hamilton on May 15, 1938 the son of Edward G. Flick and Gladys (Gabbard) Huffman. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959 and was employed as a machinist at Force Control for 42 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Calvary Christian Center. On August 9, 1957 in Hamilton he married Nancy Naomi Hubbard.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Naomi Flick of Hamilton; three sons, Greg (Renee) Flick of Hamilton, Bill (Nancy) Flick and Walt (Judy) Flick, both of Fairfield; a daughter, Sue (Tim) Sexton of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Chris (Erin) Flick, Lindsay Flick, Kristen Flick, Anthony Flick, Elizabeth Flick, Adam Flick, Zac Hughes, and Madisyn Hughes; two great-grandchildren, Miles Flick and Morgan Flick; three brothers, Ronnie (Margie) Huffman, Bobby (Maggie) Huffman, both of Ross, and Larry (Judy) Huffman of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward G. Flick and Gladys Huffman; and grandparents Ben and Susie Gabbard.

Funeral service will be held at Calvary Christian Center, 2355 Jacksonburg Road, on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jim Mullins and Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Crane, Lisa, and the oncology group at Fairfield and to Gil Bundy and John Sparks for all their loving care and support. A special thank you is extended to Hospice of Hamilton for their care and compassion.
