Gertrude Crouch

Gertrude Crouch, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 5:15 pm. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on September 7, 1928 the daughter of Bogus and Viola Purvis. Gertrude was employed as a nurse’s aide at Schroder Manor for seven years; she was also employed at SDS Pizza in Oxford for 18 years, retiring in 2002. In 1944 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky she married Marion T. Crouch, and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She is survived by three children, David Crouch of Evansville, Indiana, Patricia Steurer of Hamilton, and Ronald (Jackie) Crouch of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Rita Crouch of Hinesville, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, James T. Crouch and Linda Washburn; and a number of siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Denny Fields of New Liberty United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
