Gladys E. Montanye

Gladys E. Montanye, age 86 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 9:06 PM. She was born in Franklin County, Indiana on February 16, 1921 the daughter of Ervin and Rosa (Baker) Wolfe. Gladys was employed at Mercy Hospital of Hamilton for 17 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Metamora, Indiana. In 1965 in Metamora, she was married to Orval Montanye, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Mae (Everett) Isaacs and Louise Isaacs, both of Hamilton; son-in-law, Richard Hughes of Connersville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Sherry (Robert) Runtz, Terry (Dee) Isaacs, Cindy Isaacs, and Brenda Wagner; eight great-grandchildren, Diana and Alex Jackson, Holly and Derick Runtz, Ryan, Tara, and Dylan Isaacs, and Christina Wagner; three sisters, Cora Personette of Billingsville, Indiana, Pauline Wiggins of Liberty, Indiana, and Thelma Croucher of Camden, Ohio; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Fran Hughes; and four brothers, Russell, Robert, Roy, and Eugene Wolfe.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Harold Thompson of Stahlheber Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
