Glen Allen, age 74 of Burlington, Kentucky passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:31 PM. He was born in Lynch, Kentucky on October 7, 1936 and served in the U.S. Air Force. Glen was employed as a keylock master at Diebold, Inc. for 26 years, retiring in 1991. In his younger years, he enjoyed car racing, boating, fishing, and camping in Brookville, Indiana. His love of the outdoors continued into later life and it was his favorite place to be. On September 18, 1999 in Hamilton he married Joyce Carberry.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joyce Allen of Burlington, Kentucky; three sons, Glenn Allen of Seven Mile, Rocky (Monica) Allen of Hamilton, and Mark Allen of Bryan, Ohio; two daughters, Glenda Allen and Tracy Allen, both of Hamilton; and two stepdaughters, Doris Mitchum of Danville, Kentucky and Roberta Garrett of Hamilton. Glen also leaves behind to cherish his memory 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many other dedicated family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hannah (Hodge) and Floyd Hale.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Parker officiating. Cremation will be held. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
