Glendon Isaacs

Glendon Isaacs, age 94 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 6:37 PM. He was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on December 5, 1913 the son of Isaac and Mollie (Alcorn) Isaacs. Glendon was a member of the Zion Grove Baptist Church and was a partner in Isaacs Auto Sales for 14 years, retiring in 1972. On March 15, 1934 in Irvine, Kentucky he was married to Hazel Cox, and she preceded him in death in 2002.

He is survived by one son, Ken (Mary) Isaacs of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Everett and Bonnie Isaacs, both of Richmond, Indiana; one sister, Beaulah Moore of McGonigle; six grandchildren, Gregg (DeAnna) Isaacs, Monica David, Ashley (Mark) Williams, Debbie Isaacs, Kellie Wright, and Randy Isaacs; nine great-grandchildren, Shawn, Kyle, Alexa, Harrison, Olivia, Emily, Austin, Christopher, and Ashton; and also a daughter-in-law, Marlene Isaacs of Bradenton, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Vernon Lee Isaacs in 1998; four brothers, Roy, Arnold, Cecil, and Delbert Isaacs; and one sister, Hazel Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Derrick Lay, Pastor of the Zion United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. "Glendon lived a long and full life." In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Zion United Baptist Church.
