Glenn Hopkins age 88 of Hamilton passed away in Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:58AM. He was born in Lily, Kentucky on February 8, 1921, the son of Garfield and Sarah (Wyrick) Hopkins. Glenn was a fifty-seven year member of the Princeton Pike Church of God; a member of the Golden Pikers; a Kentucky Colonel and was a veteran of the United States Army and Marine Corp. in WW11 serving with the 77th Infantry Division. He was employed as a mechanic for Avon Products for twenty years retiring in 1986. On July 2, 1949 in Hamilton, he was married to Mabel Center and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son; Randall (Sherry) Hopkins of Maineville, Ohio; one daughter, Michelle L. Hopkins of Hamilton; one brother, Bill (Natalie) Hopkins of Corbin, Kentucky and a grandson; Justin Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Leo, Edd, Roy, Hansel, Charles and Gene Hopkins and three sisters, Hazel Hopkins, Janrose Smith and Stella Osborne.
Funeral services will be held at the Princton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton-Glendale Rd. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2PM. with Rev. Ron Medley, Rev. Rick Witt and Rev. Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the Church on Monday from 12 Noon to 2PM. He enjoyed his life with his family. He has waited for this moment to live eternally with the Lord and await his children in Heaven.
