Gloria Lavern Curtis

Gloria LaVern Curtis, age 77 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:45 AM. She was born in Trenton on September 15, 1932 the daughter of Esby Sim Delaney Sr. and Katherine (Potts) Delaney. She was a 1950 graduate of Fairfield High School. Gloria was employed as a file clerk at the Butler County Clerk of Courts for 9 years, retiring in 1994.

She is survived by a son, Gary (Carole) Delaney of Hamilton; a sister, Pauline Jones of Middletown; two grandchildren, Victoria (Wayne Gray) Delaney and Jennifer (fian`cee Brent McCoy) Delaney; three step-grandchildren, Kim (Rick) Clemmons, Brian (Kelly) Phillips, and Dale Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Esby Delaney Jr.; and five sisters, Marie Delaney, Flora Delaney, Francis Sester, Clara Lucille Wilson, and Roberta McDaniel.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday Sept. 2nd at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Animal Friends Shelter.
