Gordon L. Winkler, age 77 of Irvine, Kentucky passed away in St. Clair Township on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 3:10 PM. He was born in Irvine on September 29, 1931 the son of Tracy and Rose (King) Winkler. Gordon was employed at various trucking companies, at Hamilton Tool, and was a disc jockey at a Stanton, Kentucky radio station. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Irvine.
He is survived by three sons, Wayne (Faye) Winkler, Keith (Jean) Winkler, and Jeff (Debbie) Winkler, all of Hamilton; four daughters, Sheila (Chris) Garrett, Karen Acree, Vicky Webb, and Teri Winkler, all of Hamilton; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Tracy Winkler; mother, Rose Winkler-Kolibob; and his former spouse and mother of his children, Louise Winkler in 1996; a brother, Carroll Winkler; and a sister, Debra Yaw.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Danny Rollins of Rolling Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
