Grady Burton Jr.

Grady Burton Jr., age 73 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 4:15 PM. He was born in Cincinnati on April 4, 1936 the son of Grady Elvis Sr. and Ora (Allen) Burton. Grady began playing and singing gospel music with his family in 1944 and continued throughout his life. He was a member of Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene. On September 17, 1955 in Carthage, Ohio he was united in marriage with Betty Wyatt.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Burton of Hamilton; a daughter, Danita Burton of Hamilton; three sons, Donald (Paula) Burton of Fairfield, Mark (Connie) Burton and Dennis Burton, both of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Joseph Nickell of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, Joshua (Amanda) Nickell of Newport Richey, Florida, David (Heather) Burton of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ryan Burton, Sarah Burton, and Keegan Burton, all of Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Jorden Nickell, Luke Grady Nickell, and William Burton; a brother, Danny Ray (Charlene) Burton of Loveland; a dear nephew, Mike (Bonnie) Williams of Monroe; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maxine Burton and Norma Williams; and a brother, Irvin Burton.

A local visitation will be held at the Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Tuley Road, on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a funeral service at the church at 7:00 PM Friday. A visitation will also be held at Rheber Church of the Nazarene on Red Hill Road in Liberty, Kentucky on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a funeral service at the church at 1:00 PM Sunday. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery in Liberty, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene or to Rheber Church of the Nazarene. Grady served the Lord all his life and he would want everyone to join him in Heaven someday.
