Gwendolyn W. DeLong, age 78 of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 2, 1935 to Ray and Wilda (Stewart) Williams. Gwendolyn graduated from Hamilton High in 1953. On June 19, 1954 in Hamilton she married John DeLong. Gwendolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, John DeLong; son, Kenneth DeLong; daughter, Rebecca Wade; three grandchildren, Wendy (James) Jones, Sam Wade, and Logan Wade; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Toby Jones. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary "Lettie" Needham; son-in- law, Charles Needham; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Chris Malamisuro of Good Shepherd Orthodox Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Friends Humane Society.
