Gwendolyn Kay Foley-Whitaker, Age 65, passed away On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Mercy Health Hospital in Fairfield. Kay was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 9th, 1961 to the late Finis Foley and Helen Yates.
Kay was a woman of rare and genuine kindness, known for a heartfelt soul that reached out to everyone she met. She lived by the simple, powerful principle of helping those in need. If Someone was struggling, Kay was there to help without question or hesitation. Her compassion was just as evident in her love for animals. There wasn't a creature that didn't instinctvely sense her gentle spirit and come right to her.
Above all, Kay's world revovled around her family. Her children and Grandchildren were her greatest treasures, and she loved them more than anything in this world. Whether she was being called "Mammy Kay" or "Granny" she embraced her role as the family's matriarch with endless love, patience, and a warm smile. She was the heart of her home.
She is survived by her children: Karri Whitaker, Kristina (Tracy Clark) Whitaker, and Kristopher (Kimberly Tipton) Whitaker; her grandson, Michael Whitaker; her twin sister, Renay Begley; her nephews, Jesse Foley, Josh Foley, Adam Begley, and James Whitaker; her Niece Danyell Whitaker; her brother-in-law Tim (Lisa) Whitaker; and her sister-in-law, Shannon Whitaker. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her.
She proceed in death by her late husband Mark Whitaker; her parents, Helen Yates and Finis Foley; her brother Gary Foley; her grandson, Travis Whitaker; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Fay Whitaker; her brothers-in-law, Andy, Eddie, and JImmy Whitaker; her nephews Eddie Whitaker Jr. and Timmy Whitaker Jr.; and her companion dog, Zoey.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio on Tuesday, April. 28th, 2026 from 11am to 12pm with a funeral service to follow 12pm with Pastor Steve Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flats Cemetery. The Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors With OHC, Mercy, and Jewish Hospitals for all their care and support over the years with Moms Cancer journey.
