Harland Eugene "Gene" Kinsey

Harland Eugene “Gene” Kinsey, age 89 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Harland was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on September 25, 1934, to Harland Kinsey and Nettie (Donald) Kinsey.  Gene worked at Pillsbury for 25 years, and at West Side Federal Savings and Loan for 23 years, and McCollugh Hyde Hospital for 20 plus years.  He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

Gene is survived by his sons, David “Pete” (Beverly) Kinsey, Raymond (Carolyn) Kinsey, Russell (Jackie McGuire) Kinsey; his grandchildren, Brandy (Gary) Merryman, Stacy (Brian) Dickman, Abigail (Mike) Nartker, Madeline (Sean) Drake, Kevin (Anya) Kinsey, Greg (Brandi) Kinsey; his great grandchildren, Savannah, Morgan, Aubrey, Tyler, Wesley, Elliotte, Bruce, Amelia, Evangeline, Elizabeth, Alice, and Lucy; his two sisters, Dorothy (Marion) Broome and  Sue (Otis) Hughes; and his daughter in law Kristi Kinsey. Harland was preceded in death by his parents, Harland Kinsey and Nettie Kinsey; and his first spouse, Phyllis (Thompson) Kinsey; and several brothers and sisters.

Gene is also survived by his wife, Gloria Kinsey; her children, Tammy, Debbie, and Brian; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Todd Wallen of Home Ave. First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
