Harold Jones, age 91, of Hamilton, passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Saturday May 24, 2008. He was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on August 6, 1916 the son of Wiley B. and Genoha (Flint) Jones. Harold was an Army veteran of WW II, serving at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, later serving in the Central Pacific, Guadalcanal, and the Solomon Islands. A retired barber, he had operated his own shop in Oxford, later working for various shops. Harold was a member of the Southern Hills Chapter 8 Pearl Harbor survivors Association. On December 17, 1952 in Seven Mile he married Ellenette Dinnie who preceded him in death on May 18, 1993
He is survived by his two sons, Fred Jones and Jerome "JD" Jones both of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Luther Jones, and a sister, Anita Jones Ketterhagen.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson funeral Home, 1350 Millville, Ave. on Thursday, May 29th at 12 noon, with Pastor Stephen Collins of Millville Ave. Church of God officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Thursday from 11 AM to 12 noon.
