Harris Crain, age 80 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 12:36 PM. He was born in Venice, Illinois on October 25, 1926 the son of Frazier H. and Septa (Wiggins) Crain. Harris was employed as a truck driver. On November 27, 1948 in Elsmere, Kentucky he married Opal Settle, and she preceded him in death in 2003.
He is survived by a son, Frazier Crain of Hamilton; two daughters, Peggy (Doug) Robinson of Fairfield Township and Carol (Darrell) Chasteen of Ross; 9 grandchildren, Gina, Julie, Rocky, Amy, Jamie, Jason, Doug, Josh, and Ben; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Carl Crain.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Fultz of Freedom House Church of God officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-2PM. The family extends a special thank you to the caregivers of Frazier and Delbert, and Vitas Hospice for their kind and gentle care and support.
