Harry J. Fields, age 89 of Hamilton, passed away at Kettering Hospital Hamilton on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Harry was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 7, 1934, to Jim Fields and Margaret (Rose) Fields. On September 12, 1953, he married Eula Gray Brantley, and she preceded him in death in 2018. On May 31, 2021, he married Melva Shepherd. He was raised in Harlan, KY, and came to Ohio in 1952. Harry worked for Pillsbury for 25 years, a small business owner, and later worked in the insurance industry for more than 20 years, and a Fairfield School Bus driver for 10 years. He was an active member of Princeton Pike Church of God and was also a volunteer with the Food Bank at the church. Harry’s hobbies included golf, bowling, college basketball, especially UK Basketball. He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, uncle, brother, coach, and a mentor to so many. Harry loved God, and really lived the Christian life.
Harry is survived by his spouse, Melva Shepherd; his children, Debbie (Steve) Delk, Bridget (Jerry) Bundt, Diane Fields, Shawn (Kellee) Fields; his 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Patrick and Barbara; and his good buddy, Moses the dog. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Margaret Fields; his siblings, Joel, Peggy, Yvonne, Deloris, Virgil, and Francis; and one great grandson, Quinten Bundt.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jake Jacobs of Princeton Pike Church of God officiating.
