Hazel Bond

Hazel Bond, age 78 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, November 6, 2008. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on April 30, 1930 the daughter of Wiley and Lucy Smith. Hazel was a resident of Golden Years Health Care for the past ten years and a member of the former Gordon Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Smallwood of Fairfield Township; a brother, Creed (Myrtle) Smith of Hamilton; a special grandson, Chad; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janice Smallwood; and siblings Garrison Smith, Sally Mays, Estill Smith, George Smith, Gladys Jordan, Roxie Smith, Susan Stewart, Jewell McCreary, Willard Smith, and Mary Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Arvil Jones of New Testament Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Golden Years Health Care, especially Iris, for their care and concern.
