Helen Barrett

Helen Barrett, age 80, of Lemon Twp. passed away at Atrium Medical Center on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was born in Booneville, Kentucky on April 11, 1930 the daughter of Gilbert and Florence Elizabeth (Reynolds) Bowles. A homemaker Helen enjoyed puzzles and fishing. On June 24, 1946 in Booneville, Kentucky she married John W. Barrett who passed away on October 9, 2005.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Beatrice) Barrett of Liberty Twp. and Timothy Barrett of Lemon Twp.; three daughters, Valerie (Gary) Leinig and Mary (Randy) Garrett both of Hamilton, and Pam (Michael) Pierre of Middletown; two brothers, Raymond (Jeannette) Bowles of Blanchester, Ohio, and Floyd (the late Annabelle) Bowles of Booneville, Kentucky; three sisters, Laura Alice (the late Paul) Gibson of Sunman, Indiana, Mary Louise (Everett) Miller of Harrison, Ohio, and Nettie (the late Clovis) Hall of Brookville, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Louise Bowles; and a brother-in-law, Bob Lynch; 11 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; and her loving dog Squirt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Johnny Barrett in 1983; and a grandchildren, Barbara Cunningham in 1984 and Kevin "Killer" Barrett in 2008; a brother, Richard Bowles; and sisters, Lena Mae Bowles , Ora Bowles, and Rachel Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., on Thursday march 17th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kenneth Mills of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow in West Chester Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM. Helen’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Atrium Medical Center for their care and concern .
