Helen (Prueitt) Betz

age 97, passed away on September 21, 2016, at Hospice of Hamilton. Helen was born in Hinton, WV, on June 10, 1919, to William and Martha (Hughes) Preston. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1937 and retired from Pease Co. in 1982. Helen enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, and reading; but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her much-loved family.

Helen is survived by her children Sue Ann (Lew) Musgrove of Las Vegas, NV; Richard (Audrey Stattelman) Betz of Hovland, MN; Linda (Gene) Weathers of Hamilton, OH; and Kathy (David) Lyon of Birmingham, AL.; grandchildren Shari, Diana, Lisa, Sandie, Karen, Kim, Brian, Chad and Jennifer; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister Geneva (Jim) Kerby; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Moss G. Prueitt, Jr., and Donald A. Betz; grandson Daniel W. Teese; sisters Beatrice Kitchings and Mary Wise; brothers Charles Preston, Melvin, Preston, Julian Preston and Herbert Preston. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Hamilton and a very special caregiver, Priscilla, for their care and comfort.

Visitation will be held Saturday September 24, 2016, from 9:30-10:30 am at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, with a service immediately following visitation.
