Helen J. Johnson

Helen J. Johnson nee Hornsby, age 91 of Hamilton, formerly of Seven Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:30AM.She was born in Hamilton on August 1, 1924 to Delbert and Lillian Mae (Harris) Hornsby. She enjoyed her work at Main St. Pastry and loved baking, but found that caring for children in her home was her true calling. Helen was a dedicated member of Tri-County Baptist Church for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Steve (Cyndi) Furginson, Penny Boyd, Mike (Vickie) Furginson, and Karen (Robert) Glardon, her son-in-law, Robin Lamgaday, her grandchildren, Sherri, Shannon, Jermaine, Chris, Nikki, Mike, Eirik, Lucrita, Veronica, Torie, James, Erin, Ashley, Jennifer, Josh, Savannah, 26 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, lifetime friends, Leona Hodges, Janet Hiler, and Rebecca Scripture, , brother-in-law, Ron Eversole, sister-in-law, Sue Hornsby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Red Johnson, her children, Doug Furginson and Kathy Lamgaday, her grandson, Todd Furginson, her siblings, and her parents. The family wishes to thank Helen’s special nurse and dear friend, Colleen Moore, who became like a daughter to her over the years, nurse practitioner, Phyllis Atkinson, caregiver, June Bruck and the great people at Miami Valley Hospice.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 12:30PM with Pastor Terry Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 11:30AM-12:30PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Susan G.
