Helene J. Fahner

Helene J. Fahner, age 85, passed away on February 25, 2015 at Hospice of Hamilton.

She was born May 6, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Albert P. and Marie G. (Le Gac) Couture. She married Edward D. Fahner on June 17, 1950 at Nativity of Our Lord Church. They transferred to Hamilton in 1957 and were long time members of St. Peter’s Church. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a former den mother and past vice president of the PTA at St. Peter’s School. She volunteered at Ft. Hamilton Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels and sang in the resurrection choir prior to her stroke.

She is survived by five children; Edward (Brenda) Fahner, Marianne (Gary) Kessler, Pat (Mike) Graf, Debbie (Tim) Gleason and Sue (Kurt) Davish all of Hamilton; 14 grandchildren, Mike (Missy) Graf, Keith (Dr. Maggie) Kessler, Chris (Dawn) Fahner, Jenny (Scott) Burley, Scott (Heather) Kessler, Julie (Brett) Rogers, Sarah Graf, Ann (Kevin) Quinn, Nancy (Mike) Hann, Rick (Becca) Graf, Rob Graf, Ryan Gleason, Beth Davish and Megan Davish and 12 great-grandchildren Jake, Audrey, Emily, Liz, Drew, Ethan, David, Johnathan, Ashley, Lindsey, Dylan, Luke and a brother Richard (Pat) Couture of Michigan. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and her good friends in the Friday night supper group. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Albert and Frank and one sister Marguerite Kerwin.

We would like to thank Dr. PaulaWeisenberger for her excellent care and the staff on the 5th floor at Ft. Hamilton Hospital and the staff at Hospice of Hamilton.

Visitation will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, on Tuesday March 3, 2015 from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday March 4, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton. Burial will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery. Memorials to Badin High School or Hospice of Hamilton.
