Henry C. Taylor, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:05 AM. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 30, 1920 the son of Oswyn and Annie Lee (Trimble) Taylor. Henry was employed as a millwright at Champion Paper for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Civil Conservation Corps and Oak Hill Baptist Church. On July 6, 1970 in Newport, Kentucky he was married to Henrietta Sullivan.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Taylor of Hamilton; six children, James L. (Delores) Taylor of Lebanon, Thomas D. Taylor of Hamilton, Donna (Chet) Eten of Trenton, Rick (Mona) Robbins of Winchester, California, Steven (Levona) Robbins of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Pamela (Leonard) Stewart of Hamilton; a brother, James P. (Mary Jane) Taylor of New Albany, Indiana; two sisters, Inez Adams of Pine Village, Indiana and Eva Sparks of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; sixteen grandchildren, Tammy McIntosh, Brian Callahan, Jennifer Luckett, Susan Haag, Heather Taylor, Megan Robbins, Travis Robbins, Lindsey Garrett, Adam Robbins, Michele Burer, Tommy Bugg, Joe Eten, Melissa Eten, Kristin Mason, Justin Fields, and Sheldon Robbins; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brittany McIntosh, Stacey McIntosh, Cindy Callahan, Eddie McIntosh, Michael Oser, Leah Luckett, Madeline Luckett, Katelyn Luckett, Brandon Wells, Sheyenne Haag, Caleb Taylor, Tommy Taylor, Katelyn Edmondson, and Oscar Garrett; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen Taylor and Dennis Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Kaye Taylor; two grandsons, Kevin Taylor and Randy Taylor; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Adams and Alfred Sparks; and a sister-in-law, Betty Taylor.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Henry’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Drs. George Manitsas, Kenneth Wehr, and Ted Hunter, and to the ICU and 5 Main staffs at Ft. Hamilton Hospital for their care and concern.
