Herb Schmidt

Herb Schmidt, age 77 of Hamilton, passed away at Bethesda Butler Hospital on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Herb was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 30, 1940 to Edward and Anaa Marie (Masterson) Schmidt.

He stayed active throughout his life among other things he was a ham radio operator, an Eagle Scout, served in the Army; volunteered at Whitewater Valley Railroad in Connersville, IN and he was an active member of the St. Peter in Chains Church in Hamilton.

Herb is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janice Schmidt; his children, Suzanne Stephens, Jeremy Glenn, Jason Glenn, and Justin Glenn; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; his siblings, Fr. Ed and Kathy; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Herb was preceded in death by his first wife, Julie, and his son, Michael.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Peter in Chains Church.
